Silver Drachm of Indo-Greek Ruler Zoilos II

That was the Indo-Greek ruler, he ruled in eastern Punjab, today’s Nothern Pakistan, between 55 CE and 35 CE.The Indo-Greek kingdom is also known as the Graeco-Indian Kingdom. This kingdom was founded by Graeco-Bactrian king Demetrius invaded the subcontinent early in the 2nd century BC.
Zoilos II issued coins in gold, silver and copper. This silver drachm that weighs around 2.25g was issued by king Zoilos II during this rule in Indo-Greek. The obverse of this coin depicts’ Bust of the king facing right, Greek legend BASILEOS SOTEROS ZOILOU around. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Athena Alkidemos advancing left and monogram to right, Kharoshthi letter to left & Kharoshthi legend is inscribed as ‘Maharajasa Tratarasa Jhoilasa’ around.
