Tiberius Ceasar Augustus was the second Roman Emperor, he ruled the Roman Empire from 14 CE to 37 CE. He sat on the throne of the Roman Empire after succeeding his stepfather Augustus and ruled it for almost 23 years.Tiberius was one of the greatest Roman generals; during his rule, he conquered part of Pannonia, Dalmatia, Raetia, and (temporarily) parts of Germania laid the foundations for the northern frontier.
Tiberius, after sitting on the throne of the Roman Emperor, issued coins in gold, silver, and copper. This gold aureus was issued by Tiberius after sitting on the throne of the Roman Empire. The above-shown coin is the gold Aureus of Tiberius; it was circulated between 14 to 37 CE. The obverse of this coin depicts a laureate head of Tiberius facing left surrounded by the inscription which reads ‘TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS’ means ‘Caesar Augustus Tiberius, son of the Divine Augustus’ within the dotted border.
