Gold Mohur of Rajeshvara Simha Listed For INR 1,40,000

This gold mohur issued by Rajeshvara Simha of Independent Kingdom Assam is listed for INR 1,40,000 in an upcoming auction of Todywalla that will be held in Mumbai on 13th December 2020.During the medieval period, Assam was ruled by the Ahom Dynasty. This dynasty was established by king Sukaphaa, a Shan prince of Mong Mao who came to Assam after crossing the Patkai mountain range, hills on India's north-eastern border with Burma or Myanmar.
This gold mohur was issued by Rajesvara Simha during his rule in the Independent Kingdom Assam. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sri Sri Hara Gauri Charana Kamala Makaranda Madhukarasya’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sri Sri Svarga Deva Sri Rajesvara Simha Nrpasya Sake 1674’.
