The birds found at Antarctica are Ducks, geese and waterfowl; Sheathbills; Sandpipers and allies; Skuas and jaegers; Gulls, terns, and skimmers; Penguins; Albatrosses; Southern storm-petrels; Shearwaters and petrels; Cormorants and shags; Herons, egrets, and bitterns.Ducks, geese, and waterfowl birds are with webbed feet, flattened bills, and feathers. Sheathbills are scavengers of the Antarctic regions. Sandpipers and allies are in large number eat small invertebrates.
Skuas and jaegers are with grey or brown plumage and white markings on the wings. They nest on the ground. Penguins are flightless birds. They feed on krill, fish, squid and other forms of sea life. Albatrosses are the largest flying bird and have the largest wingspans of any extant birds. The flight of southern storm- petrels is fluttering and bat-like.
Shearwaters and petrels have united nostrils with a medium septum and a long outer functional primary.
