2020-11-14 Sat
This beautiful 2 Oz Silver coin is part of the “Ramakien” series and depicts Tossakan, King of Langka City, and is the protagonist of the Ramakien story. The minting technique is Bi-Metal. Ramakien is basically Ramayan and Tossakan stands for the Demon King Ravana of Langka or Lanka. The reverse of the coin depicts the Demon King in the Ramayana epic, in armour with various weapons, supported by Gothic motifs and Thai patterns in the background. The 2 Oz Silver coin is issued with a new minting technique that combines 11.5 ounces of copper in two layers of pure silver, resulting in a super-high relief.
The obverse of the coin features the coat of arms of Chad and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD” - the issuing country, “10000 FRANCS CFA” - the face value and “2020” - the year of issue.
