The German Red Cross [GRC] is the third largest Red Cross Society in the world. They provide services within and outside of Germany. They provide 75% of the blood supply in Germany and 60% of the emergency medical services as well as first aid training. The Headquarter of GRC provides international humanitarian aid in more than 50 countries of the world.The main activities of the German Red Cross are Medical Service Units, Mountain Rescue Service, Lifeguard Service, Welfare Work and Red Cross Youth.
On 25th June 1952, International Committee of the Red Cross recognised German Red Cross and later the name was changed to German Democratic Republic of Red Cross.
Bohemia and Moravia issued stamps of German Red Cross fundraising on 29th June 1940 where nurse and patient are depicted.
