The United States of America issued this commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of Smoky Mountain National Park in the year 2014. This commemorative quarter dollar was issued by the United States of America, under the Americas the Beautiful Quarter Dollar Program.The Great Smoky Mountain National Park features a mountain range rising along the Tennessee–North Carolina border in the south-eastern United States. This national park has wonderful biodiversity, with ridge upon ridge of forest straddling the border between Tennessee and North Carolina.
The obverse of this quarter dollar depicts the portrait of the first president of the United States of America, George Washington, facing towards left. The reverse side of the quarter dollar depicts a historic log cabin found within Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It features a segment of the lush green forest and a hawk circling above.
