Copper Coin of Chudasamas of Gujarat

The Chudasamas were the ruling dynasty in the Saurashtra region in the Indian state of Gujarat. They ruled this region between the 9th and 15th Centuries. The Capital of this Chudasamas dynasty was based in Junagadh and Vamanasthali. They were well-known for their skills in architecture, Adi Kadi Vav and Navghan Kuvo, which are the two step-wells made by them. These structures are probably a few of the oldest stepwell in India. These two-step wells represent the highest architectural achievements of Chudasama rule.This copper coin that weighs around 2.09g was issued by them during their rule. The obverse of this coin depicts Conch- Sankh within a circle surrounded by a dotted circle. The reverse of this coin is unidentified.
