Frederik VI was the king of Denmark and Norway, he ruled Denmark from 1808 CE to 1839 CE and he ruled Norway from 1808 CE to 1814 CE. He was the son of Christian VII and Caroline Mathilde of Great Britain.This Indo-Danish silver 2 Fano was issued by him during his rule. Indo-Danish is a name given to the colonist of Denmark in India, forming part of the Danish colonial empire. Frederik VI issued this coin in the year 1816 and the weight of this coin is around 2.57g. The obverse of this coin depicts ‘Crowned FR monogram with VI between and below’. The reverse of this coin depicts numerical 2 flanked by Stars above value and date, both sides legend within a dotted circle’.
This silver Fano is listed for INR 80,000 in an upcoming auction of Oswal Antiques that will be held in Mumbai on 31st October 2020.
