In the year 1989, Saint Vincent issued a special set of 10 stamps to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the French National Day under the name of Bequia which includes a stamp depicting Minnie as Marie Antoinette.Marie Antoinette – the last Queen of France, is famous for being overthrown by revolutionaries and being publicly guillotined following the abolition of the monarchy. The French Revolution took place on 14th July 1789. However, almost after the span of three months of imprisonment, Marie was put on trial and found guilty of treason. Two days later, at the age of 37, the queen suffered the same fate as her husband and was executed.
During the Philex France 89' exhibition in Paris of 1989, Saint Vincent issued a set of commemorative stamps for the 200th anniversary of the French National Day under the name of Bequia. Eighth-century clothing became the theme of philatelic products; stamps. The stamps depict the Disney characters in contemporary attire.
A stamp with the denomination of 3 East Caribbean cents depicts Minnie as Marie Antoinette. Dressed in French attire, Minnie/Marie rides a horse. Pluto is also seen strutting along with the horse.
