William Shakespeare Birth Anniversary Celebrated at Bechuanaland

William Shakespeare was an English playwright, poet, dramatist and actor. His work includes 39 plays, 154 sonnets, 2 narrative poems and some other verses. His play was translated into every major language of the world. His most famous work was created between 1589 and 1613. His world-famous tragedies were Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. He was born and brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. He got married to Anne Hathaway at the age of 18. The couple had three children: Susanna and twins Hamnet and Judith. On 23rd April 1964 Bechuanaland issued a stamp on Shakespeare birth anniversary. The stamp was designed by Richard Granger Barrett. The Bechuanaland was a protectorate under Britain. It was established on 30th September 1966.
