Silver Kori of Princely State Porbandar

Porbandar was a Princely State during British rule in India, it was ruled by Jethwa Dynasty. Today it is located was located along the coastal line of the Arabian Sea and a part of the Kathiawar Political Agency. The capital of the state was the harbour town of Porbandar; some of the important towns of the state were Bhanvad, Chhaya, Ranpur, and Shrinagar.This silver kori which weighs around 4.8g was issued from Princely State Porbandar in the name of Gujarat Sultanate ruler Muzaffar Shah II. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sri Rana in Devanagari, AH date in Persian’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Gujarat Sultanate ruler Muzaffar Shah II.
