Akbar Silver Word with Persian letter Ain

This silver rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor during his rule in the Mughal Empire. He issued this coin from the mint Ahmedabad.Jalal-ud-Din Muhammad Akbar was the ruler of the Mughal Empire who sat on the throne after the death of his father Humayun in the year 1556. He sat on the throne of the Mughal Empire when he was just 13 years old. After defeating Hemu, a Hindu general of the Sur dynasty in the Second Battle of Panipat, Akbar reacquired the Delhi throne and re-established the Mughal rule.
Muhammad Jalal-ud-din Akbar issued this silver rupee by adding the letter ‘Ain’ on the obverse. The weight of this coin is around 11.41g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Akbar with additional letter Ain. The reverse of this coin is inscribed Ila hi month at the top, mint name, and year at the bottom.
