A swastika is an ancient religious symbol used in the Indian subcontinent. We see swastika symbol in the entrance of a house, temples, etc.Swastik can be described as two lines intersecting each other with bends on four sides. The swastika is one of the important symbols in Indian History. It is also known by different names in different countries like ‘Wan’ in China, ‘Manji’ in Japan, ‘Fylfot’ in England, ‘Hakenkreuz’ in Germany, and ‘Tetraskelion’ or ‘Tetragammadion’ in Greece. In India, Swastika word comes from the Sanskrit language, the word Swastika represents good fortune, prosperity, and abundance.
We can see the swastika symbol on the copper paisa issued by Delhi Sultanate Sultan Sher Shah Suri. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Sher Shah Suri. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the Fi-Ahad Legend and mint name.
