KamBakhsh Silver Rupee Sold For INR 96,000

Muhammad KamBakhsh was the youngest son of Emperor Aurangzeb. He sat on the Mughal throne in the year 1707 CE; after the death of Aurangzeb. He ruled the Mughal emperor for a very short period from 1707 CE till 1708 CE. As he has ruled for a very short period of time, coins minted by him are extremely rare.KamBakhsh had assumed the throne at Bijapur and struck coins in his own name, and declared himself as PadshahKamBakhsh-i-Dinpanah (Emperor KamBakhsh, Protector of Faith).
This silver rupee was issued by KamBakhsh during his rule in the Mughal Empire. He issued this silver rupee from the mint Ashanabad in the Hijri year 1119 in the first year of this reign. This silver rupee was sold for INR 96,000 in an electronic auction of Oswal Antiques that was held on 24th August 2020. The weight of this coin is around 11.22g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of KamBakhsh. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name.
