The Thaler coin depicts crowned- coat of arm where it is shown an elephant is moving upward with inscribed legends ‘RESPUBLICA BERNENSIS’. The other side of the coin shows the effigy of tribe man holding spiral spade and legends, ‘DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT 1798’.Until 1798, the Thaler was the currency of the Swiss canton of Bern.
