Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve is a living museum on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. This site contains both archaeological and heritage of more than 2000 years. The Prehistoric and colonial-era archaeological sites ruin; are found in a dynamic, typical ecosystem that supports threatened and endangered species. In the year 1992, the congress party of the United States of America established Salt River Bay as part of the National Park System. It was made to preserve, protect, and also tell the story of its rich contributions to the nation’s natural and cultural heritage.The obverse side of this quarter dollar depicts the bust of George Washing ton facing towards left. The reverse side of this quarter dollar depicts a red mangrove tree in an early stage of its life cycle, as it evolves from a very small plant to an adult tree.
