Bengal Sultanate ruler Daud Shah Karrani

Daud Shah Karrani was the last ruler of the Bengal Sultanate’s Karrani dynasty. He was the youngest son of Sulaiman Khan Karrani. He sat on the throne of Bengal Sultanate in the year 1572 CE and ruled it till 1576 CE. During the reign of this father Sulaiman Khan Karrani, Daud Shah Karrani was appointed as commander of a massive army of 40,000 cavalries, 3,600 elephants, 140,000 infantry, and 200 cannons.After sitting on the throne of Bengal Sultanate Daud Shah Karrani issued silver coins in the denomination of Rupee and Half Rupee. All these coins were struck at Patna, Satgaon, and Tanda mint.
This silver rupee was issued by him from the mint Patna during the Hijri Year 981. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Daud Shah Kararani. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the kalmia.
