Silver Nazarana One and a Half Rupee of Princely State Bhopal

Bhopal was a Princely State during the British rule in India; it was founded by Dost Mohammad Khan, a Pashtun soldier in the Mughal army under the service of Emperor Aurangzeb in the year 1707. After the death of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, he annexed several territories to his fiefdom. The state was ruled by the Muslim rulers until the last Nawab Hamidullah Khan acceded the State to India in the year 1949 AD.This beautiful silver Nazarana Half-Rupee was issued by Shah Jahan Begam, queen of Princely State of Bhopal. Both obverse and reverse side of this coin bears a Kalima ‘La Ilaha Illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullah’.
