Silver Rupee of Princely State Dholpur

Dholpur or Dhaulpur was a Princely State situated in the easternmost state of Rajputana Province during the British Raj. It was found in the year 1806 CE by a Jat ruler. After 1818, the state got placed under the authority of British India’s Rajputana Agency. State Dholpur ruled by the Ranas until the independence of India in 1947. Today it is located in the present state of Rajasthan.This silver rupee was issued by kingKirat Singh during his reign in Princely State Dholpur. The weight of this silver rupee is around 11.05g and it was issued in the name of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Abkar II. The obverse side of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Muhammad Akbar II with the Hijri date 1229 and an inverted pistol. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with mint name and parasol.
