Given the huge popularity of ancient mythology recently, the Mesoamerican civilizations are finally seeing some cool coin designs highlighting elements of their art and their legends. The Mayan Calendar that has confused and awed the researchers has been the subject of interest in many countries.Hence, the calendar appears on many numismatics products of the countries. Recently in the year, 2018 Nieu mint issued a beautiful 2 Oz Silver coin which is dedicated to one of the first calendars known to man and one of the most famous symbols in history – the Mayan Calendar.
The reverse of the coin depicts the incredible and detailed high relief image of MAYAN CALENDAR. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by beautiful details and inscriptions: “5 DOLLARS” - the face value, “ELIZABETH II” - the name of the Queen, “NIUE” - the issuing country and “2018” - the year of issue.
