Hushang Shah Gold Tanka Sold For INR 95,000

This gold tanka which weighs around 11.12g was issued by Hushang Shah of Malwa Sultanate. This gold was sold for INR 95,000 in an electronic auction of Oswal Antiques held on 8th June 2020.? The Malwa Sultanate was a late medieval independent Sultanate of Turkish origin in the Malwa region. In the present-day, it is located in the Madhya Pradesh state of India. It was founded by Dilawar Khan Ghori, the governor of the Delhi Sultanate, who asserted his independence in 1392 CE.
? Hisam Al-Din Hushang Shah was a Sultan of Malwa. His real name was Alp Khan and he took the title Hushang Shah after being crowned. He was the son of Dilawar Khan Ghuri, founder of the Malwa Sultanate.
?The obverse of this gold tanka is inscribed as ‘Al Sultan Al Azam Hisham Al Duniya Wa’l Din’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Abu’l Mujahid Hushang Shah Al-Sultan’.
