Princely State Bikaner

Bikaner was a Princely State during British rule in India in the Bikaner region from 1465 to 1947. Rao Bika was the founder of this state; he was the eldest son of Rao Jodha, ruler of Jodhpur. Rao Bika chose to found his kingdom instead of inheriting his father's. Bika defeated the Jat clans of Jangladesh and founded his kingdom.Bikaner came under the British influence in the year CE 1817 and in 1947 it was incorporated into the modern state of Rajasthan after independence.
This silver rupee which weighs around 11.36g was issued from Princely State Bikaner by king Sardar Singh in the name of Mughal nominal-ruler Alamgir II. It was issued in the Hijri year 1229 in the 18th year of this reign. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Alamgir II. The reverse side of this coin is inscribed with the mint name.
