Rare Indian Coins in Good Demand Internationally
2016-05-17 Tue
International numismatics auctions highly regard ancient Indian gold, silver and copper coins as they mostly fetch handsome returns. Stephen Album Rare Coins, an American company, has put on auction over 2,600 coins of India and several other countries from May 19th to 21st. A 1884 Empress Victoria gold coin of British India has an opening bid at $3,250 whereas a 1918 George V silver coin has a base price of $1,600 to $3,000. A silver coin of King Eucratides I, dated 170-145 BC, is priced at $2,000. A silver zodiac rupee coin of Emperor Jehangir (1605-1628) of Ahmadabad is priced at $1,200 to $1,500. Experts have stated that more people prefer to invest in rare Indian coins since they fetch better returns. Though, it’s easy to buy coins abroad, one has to seek the ASI’s permission if they want to take 100 years or older coins out of India.Latest News
