The Jat kingdom of Gohad Gohad is also known as Gohud, it is a town situated in Bhind district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. According to the archaeologist like Alexander Cunningham and William Cook, Bamraulia gotra Jats from Bamrauli Katara a place near Agra founded this city Gohad near Gwalior in the year 1505CE. Later, this city was developed into an Important Jat state and the Jat ruler of Gohad was awarded the title Rana.This silver rupee weighs around 11.22g. It was issued during the rule of Rana Chhatra Singh during the first Anglo-Maratha war. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II with the Hijri Year 1195. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the Julus formula and Regnal Year 23 with the pistol mark. Mint name on the coin is not be seen.
