Nawab Ahmed Ali Khan was Nawab of Malerkotla or Maler Kotla in India. The ruled this state from 1908 after the death of his father Nawab Ibrahim Ali Khan and ruled it until his death. He was the only nawab of that had issued coins in his name.Malerkotla of Maler Kotla was a Princely State during the British rule in India; this state was under the political control of the Jalandhar Commissioner Division Punjab during the British rule. The Nawabs of Maler Kotla had held their portion of a trust in the provinces of Sind under the Mughal Empire. During18th century when the empire started declining the local chiefs gradually became independent.
This silver rupee which weighs around 10.73g was issued by him in the name of Ahmed Shah Durrani.
