Queen of Denmark on stamps

On 16th April 2020, the Danish Queen will be 80 years old. To commemorate this occasion Denmark Post has fashioned a set of five stamps in a miniature sheet. According to the Post, the HM Queen Margrethe II has collaborated with the Postal service to select the four photos that illustrated the significant events. The first photo is from her childhood day to last photo of her consisting abroad as a newly appointed monarch. The fifth stamp depicts the photo of her Excellency that has been specially photographed for this philatelic release.

Queen Margrethe II was born in 1940 at Amalienborg Palace in Denmark. She was the eldest daughter of King Fredrik IX of Denmark. Queen Margrethe has the reputation of being Europe's most intellectual monarch due to her high academic achievements. Another fascinating aspect is she is the first reigning queen of the country which is headed by the same family for 49 generations.
