2016-05-07 Sat

The Perth Mint has announced that two 1-ounce of .999 pure silver bullion coins with privy marks have been sold out. One of the marks depicts a monkey that appears on a special 2016 Australian Kookaburra coin and the other one shows a Bavarian Lion portrayed on a unique Lunar Series II 2016 Year of Monkey coin.

A privy mark is generally added for identifying the mint which was first introduced in 1992 on a 2-ounce Kookaburra silver coin. Post that, several world mints have released many coins with privy marks.

The mintage limit for the Kookaburra coin was 50,000 while that of the Monkey Silver Bullion Lion Privy Coin was 30,000.
