Princely State Khetri

Khetri was a Princely State during the British rule in India; it is situated in the Indian states of Rajasthan. Khetri is two towns ‘Khetri Town’ founded by Raja Khet Singhji Nirwan and ‘Khetri Nagar’ which is about 10 km away from Khetri.

This silver rupee was issued from Princely State Khetri from Muzaffargarh mint, the weight of this coin is around 11.09g. This silver rupee was issued in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name of Shah Alam II with the Hijri date 1212, with the ‘Chhatra’ Symbol (a Royal Umbrella) as a mintmark. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the Julus formula with the mint name Muzaffargarh and regnal year 41.
