After the decline of the Gupta Empire towards the end of the 5th Century CE, few other dynasties and rulers - five major powers came emerged in North India. These five powers were The Hunas, The Maukharis, The Maitrakas, The Pushyabhutis, and The Gaudas.This gold Stater which weighs around 5.68g was issued from Post Gupta Bengal from Samatata Mainamati region. The obverse of this coin depicts standing left holding bow and arrow, ‘Sriya’ under the arm, standard in field surmounted by a conch shell. The reverse of this coin depicts a goddess with flowing robes standing right, a pseudo legend to the right.
