2020-01-10 Fri

The United States of America had issued this commemorative 10 Dollars coin with the theme of Andrew Jackson’s Liberty in the year 2008.

The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 contains a provision to provide continuity of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program during those times in which a president served without a first spouse. Andrew Jackson is such a president that his wife Rachel died in 1828, just a few months before he was inaugurated as President.

The obverse of this coin depicts Bust of Liberty facing towards left wearing a soft cap. This image was also used on a half dollar which was issued from 1807 to 1836. The reverse of this coin depicts Andrew Jackson also known as "Old Hickory" to his troops, in uniform, and on horseback.
