Seychelles 10 Rupees banknote of 1983

Seychelles officially the Republic of Seychelles is an archipelago country in the Indian Ocean. The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, off East Africa. It is home to numerous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves, as well as rare animals such as giant Aldabra tortoises. Mahe, a hub for visiting the other islands, is home to capital Victoria. It also has the mountain rainforests of Morne Seychellois National Park and beaches, including Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka.

The national currency of Seychelles is the Seychellois Rupee. It is subdivided into 100 cents. In the local Seychellois Creole language, it is called the roupi. Seychelles is the smallest country to have an independent monetary policy.

Today we are looking at a 10 Rupees banknote issued in 1983. The obverse has Red-footed Booby depicted in centre. The reverse has a girl with flowers (vertical).
