Henry VI was King of England reigning from 1422 to 1461 and again from 1470 to 1471.Henry was born on 6th December 1421 at Windsor Castle to Henry V. He succeeded to the English throne at the age of nine months upon his father's death, and succeeded to the French throne on the death of his maternal grandfather Charles VI shortly afterward. He is the only English monarch to also have been crowned King of France.
The above-shown coin was issued under his reign from Dijon mint. The obverse of a coin depicts Virgin Mary (on left) and Archangel Gabriel (on right) standing behind shields of France and England (respectively), scroll with AV? (upwards) in between, rays above. On the other hand, the reverse of a coin engraved Latin cross within tressure, lis to left, lion to right, h below.
