Secular and Christian motifs are adorned on this year’s self-adhesive special stamp for the Christmas season presented by Liechtenstein Post. These bright festive items show the wooden figures of a snowman, the rocking horse, the nutcracker and angels. The figures depict can still be found today on traditional decorated Christmas trees. The stamps are designed by Sereina Hatt.The snowman illustrated on the stamp of value CHF 0.85 is a symbol of winter and the wise for a white Christmas. The Rocking horse depicted on the stamp of face value CHF 1.50 symbol’s unfulfilled wishes. The Nutcracker on the stamp of value CHF 1.00 originated in Germany and was taken back home by many Americans soldiers as a souvenir in the post-war era. The angels on the last stamp of face value CHF 2.00 are the symbol of peace and truth in the entire biblical story.
