Highlights of Mayfair’s September auction

On September 29th Mayfair conducted its latest auction. It presented its great range of collection attention a great range of philatelic material with many Canadian, British, Chinese lots. This sale benefited over 350,000 Pound from its release.The highlight of this auction was the lot 607, rainbow color Trial stat 3d in dark olive green realizing 1680 Pounds. The lot 699 a mint 5 pounds organ 3240 ponds and 674 the 21/2d pl 2 on a blue paper mint 2160 pounds. A very rare unissued 5-pound Die Proof was eventually sold on the telephone for 10,800 pounds. Lot 815 Seahorse with inverted watermark realized 3600 pounds and the rarest Gb booklet with 1948 1/- SG BD6 fetch 6600 pounds.
