Maryland is the state situated in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States of America. This capital of this state is Annapolis and it is the largest city of this state is Baltimore. Maryland is best known for its blue crabs and the city of Baltimore, a major historic trading port, baseball power and birthplace of the national anthem.Maryland had always played an important role in the history of the United States of America as one of the original 13 colonies. Maryland was named a state in 1788 and was the seventh to ratify the U.S. Constitution.
The United States of America has issued this commemorative half dollar with the theme of the state of Maryland in the year 1934. This coin was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Province of Maryland. The obverse of this coin busts of Cecil Calvert the 2nd Lord Baltimore. The reverse of this coin depicts Calvert's coat of arms.
