Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Its capital, Budapest, is bisected by the Danube River. Its cityscape is studded with architectural landmarks from Buda’s medieval Castle Hill and grand neoclassical buildings along Pest’s Andrássy Avenue to the 19th-century Chain Bridge. The forint is the currency of Hungary. It was formerly divided into 100 filler. The forint's name comes from the city of Florence, where gold coins called fiorino d'oro were minted. Today we are looking at a 5 Forint banknote from 1852.
The obverse has Coats of Arms; Seated woman holding the denomination "5" and sickle; another seated woman holding Rod of Asclepius or Caduceus and the "5" denomination. There is an Arm holding a hammer in center and Beehive among flowers. The reverse is blank.
