Todywalla auction offers gold Gupta dinar for INR 4, 00,000

This coming Friday Todywalla is going to commence an auction in Coinex Pune 2019. This auction is going to offer some of the most fascination coins from Indian collection, it also consists of some rare specimens from the foreign coinage. The highlight of this auction is going to be the lyrist type gold dinar of Emperor Samudragupta of weight 7.36 g.According to the auction house, ‘the obverse of this coin depicts king seated on a high-backed throne, playing the veena (lute) with seven strings, that rests on his knees and letter ‘Si’ in Brahmi on the footstool for siddham (luck), legend Maharajadhiraja Sri Samudraguptah in the margin’. ‘The reverse of this coin illustrates Lakshmi nimbate seated left on a wicker stool, holding a diadem fillet in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left, legend Samudraguptah in the right margin’.
This rare beauty is offered for INR 4, 00,000 by the auction, it hoped to gain more for this specimen while bidding.
