Bridgeport is a historic seaport city situated in the state of Connecticut of the United States of America. It is the Fairfield country, at the mouth of the Pequonnock River on Long Island Sound. It is bordered by the towns of Trumbull to the north, Fairfield to the west, and Stratford to the east. City Bridgeport is the largest city in Connecticut and it the 5th largest city in New England. The Greater Bridgeport area is the 48th-largest urban area in the United States.The United States of America had issued this commemorative half dollar with the theme of Bridgeport, Connecticut in the year 1936. This commemorative half dollar was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the city’s incorporation.
The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of circus promoter P.T. Barnum. The reverse of this coin depicts an eagle.
