Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina in the United States of America. It is the second-largest city in South Carolina. This city is considered the first city in the United States of America which is named after Christopher Columbus. This city is best known for being famously hot during summers with matching the enormous number of fun things to do in South Carolina's capital city. The city serves as the county seat of Richland County, and a portion of the city extends into neighboring Lexington County. Columbia, South Carolina, is a traditionally Southern place with a modern twist.The United States of America had issued this silver commemorative half-dollar with the theme of Columbia, South Carolina. This coin was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the city’s founding as the state capital. The obverse of this coin depicts the figure of Justice with scales in one hand and a sword in the other hand standing between capitol building of 1768 and 1936. The reverse of this coin depicts a palmetto tree surrounded by 13 stars.
