In 1922 Howard Carter made the most dramatic discovery in archaeological history – the tomb of King Tutankhamun almost perfectly preserved with its riches intact. To mark the 96th anniversary of the Discovery, the Republic of Palau has issued a 24 Carat Gold-Plated limited-edition coin in the year 2019.Tutankhamen’s mask, or funerary mask of Tutankhamen, is the death mask of the 18th dynasty ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamen. It was discovered by Howard Carter in 1925 in tomb KV62 and is now housed in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The mask is one of the most well-known works of art in the world.
One of the highlights of the World Money Fair 2018 in Berlin: 3D Shaped Tutankhamen Mask with Ultra high relief using Smartminting technology. Just 333 pieces have been released in pure 3oz silver. The coin is as unique as the real death mask of Tutankhamen.
This 20 Dollar coin depicts the Ultra High Relief and intricately carved mask of the Pharaoh on the reverse whereas the obverse depicts the coat of arms in the center with the name of the country above and the denomination value below. The year of issue is carved at the bottom.
