PostNL or the Dutch postal service as issued a stunning stamp made of gold to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem. It is also known as Operation Market Garden which was the failed World War II military operation fought in Netherland from 11 to 25 September in 1944. The posts have issued only 500 copies of this stamp which is made in 24-carat gold.

The Operation Market Garden was a quick operation but it turned into a nine days battle. In this battle, the Allied forces faced strong opposition from the German Panzer division. The goal of the operation was to secure the key bridge over wide rivers in the Netherlands in order to outflank the heavy German defense of the Siegfried Line (Westwall) which protected heartland Germany beyond the Rhine.
