Medal of Honour Commemorative 5 Dollar Gold Coin

The United States of America had issued this commemorative gold five dollars in the year 2011 to promote the ideals of courage, sacrifice, selfless service and patriotism among the American public. The surcharges from the sale of these coins will be used to fund a variety of organization which will benefit the public. These commemorative coins are available only from United State mints and are very limited.The obverse of this coin depicts the original Medal of Honour authorized by Congress in 1861 as the Navy's highest personal decoration. The reverse of this coin depicts Minerva is in full figure, holding a Union shield and flag with munitions and a Civil War-era cannon in the background.
