First Russian telegraph stamp offered by Cherrystone auction

On November 12 and 13th Cherrystone is commencing an auction in New York City. The lot in this auction consists of at least 1000 specimens for this sale. This sale consists of highly assorted high-quality stamps and covers this auction features the stock of Broadway stamp Company started in 1931 by Max Sage. One of the highlights of this sale is the first Russian telegraph stamp issued in 1866 with 12 perforations.

Auction house has declared these stamps ‘Unused with full original gum, hinge, remnants, well cantered with intact perforation on all sides, signed Bernichon, Paris etc very fine. There are about 10 of 1866 20k black, red-brown recorded most plagued by small defects. They started to bid for this lot is $20,000 but they hope to acquire more from it.
