Wisconsin Territorial Centennial Half Dollar

The Wisconsin Territorial was an organized incorporated territory of the United States of America which was existed from 3rd July 1836 until May 29, 1848, when an eastern portion of the territory was admitted to the Union as the State of Wisconsin. This silver half dollar was issued by the United States of America in the year 1936 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Territorial Government of Wisconsin.The obverse of this silver half dollar depicts a badger, a symbol of Wisconsin against vertical arrow and a branch in the center. The inscription ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’, ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ and ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ is written above; and the inscription ‘LIBERTY’ and ‘HALF DOLLAR’ is written at the bottom. The reverse of this coin depicts the arms of men’s holding a pick above a pile of ore with the inscription ‘WISCONSIN TERRITORIAL CENTENNIAL’ around, the inscription ‘4TH DAY OF JULY ANNO DOMINI 1836’ and YEAR ‘1936’ is written at the bottom.
