This Silver half dollar was issued by the United States of America in the year 1938 to commemorate the 250 anniversary of the settlement of New Rochelle in Western Country, New York.

New Rochelle is the city situated in the Western Country, New York; it is the southernmost part of the United States of America. This city is a very beautiful place to live and to work. In this city, there are many opportunities to explore and access greater Westchester Country and New York City. New Rochelle is surrounded by other local towns including Bronx, Pelham, Mt. Vernon, Fleetwood, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, White Plains and Bronxville.

The obverse of his half a dollar features the portrait of a full-length portrait of John Pell leading a calf. The reverse of this coin depicts a modern interpretation of a classical fleur-de-lis.
