The United States of America had issued this commemorative half-dollar to commemorate 250 Anniversary of George Washington in the year 1982.George Washington is well known as the founding father of the United States of America. He had also served his country as the first American president, commander of the Continental Army, president of Constitutional Convention and gentleman planter. He had also played an important role in the American Revolutionary War, he was appointed as the commanded patriot forces to victory against the British and their allies. He presided over the Constitutional Convention of 1787 which established the new federal government, and he has been called the "Father of His Country".
The obverse of this commemorative coin depicts the portrait of George Washington astride a horse. The reverse of this coin depicts Mt. Vernon.
