This gold mohur issued by Mughal Emperor Akbar is listed for INR 1,60,000 in the upcoming 128th auction of Todywalla which will be held in Lucknow on 20th October 2019 at 11 a.m.The Venue for this auction will be Hotel Golden Tulip, 6 Station Road, Udaiganj, Husainganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh-226001. The online bidding for this auction will start from 9 a.m. onwards.
Akbar ruled the Mughal Empire after the death of his father Humayun in the year 1556. He sat on the throne of the Mughal Empire when he was just 13 years old. After defeating Hemu, a Hindu general of the Sur dynasty in the Second Battle of Panipat, Akbar reacquired the Delhi throne and re-established the Mughal rule.
The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Akbar and the reverse of this coin is inscribed with Kalima. The weight of this coin is around 10.83g and this coin was minted in Dar-ul-Khilafat Jaunpur. This gold mohur was issued during the Hijri year 987.
