Death Anniversary of Tarachand Barjatya

Tarachand Barjatya, an Indian film producer and founder of film production and distribution company Rajshri Production in Mumbai, died to on 21st September 1992. He has produced many successful Hindi films from the 1960s through to the 1980s.Tarachand was born on 10th May 1914, in Kuchaman City in Rajasthan. He studied at Vidyasagar College, Calcutta. Some of the famous films produced by him are Dosti, Jeevan Mrityu, Uphaar, Piya Ka Ghar, Saudagar, Geet Gaata Chal, Tapasya, Chitchor, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, Sawan Ko Aane Do, Taraana, Nadiya Ke Paar, and Saaransh.
Government of India appointed him as member of the committee of films with Mrs. Indira Gandhi as its Chairperson. Later, he was again appointed by the Government as a member of the `Working Group of Films' which submitted its report to the Parliament.
To honor him Indian Postal Department has issued 500 Paise commemorative postage stamps in 2013.
