The US coin auction, held from August 14-18, exceeded a sale value of $32.5 million, with the August 14 Platinum Night acknowledging over $24 million independently.The top coins in this sale were gold rarities from the Joan Zieg Steinbrenner Collection and was an exceptional irregularity. The best realized 1837 proof quarter eagle drove all the lots with a value acknowledged of $576,000; this mint piece evaluated Proof 66+ Deep Cameo by PCGS, was a part of famous collections including the Eliasberg and Bass accumulations. Another best known early evidence, a 1843 Eagle evaluated Proof 64 Deep Cameo was sold for $480,000.
World currency results were driven by three mint pieces from the George Hans Cook Collection of Canadian Coinage; to be sure, two of the mint pieces are considered numismatic sovereignty.
